An offline POS: keep selling when the internet drops.

Get More POS runs on the counter PC, not in a browser tab. When the connection goes, you keep scanning, weighing and taking cash, and every sale is sent to the back office when it comes back.

  1. Internet connection lost
  2. Sale 0412 · $16.90 cash · saved on the till
  3. Sale 0413 · $8.50 cash · saved on the till
  4. Connection back
  5. 2 sales sent · stock updated

What keeps working, and what waits.

How it works.

Four simple rules, built into the till.

  1. Products and prices live on the tillThe till checks for new products and prices about every minute while it is online.
  2. Every sale is saved on the till firstNothing depends on the connection at the moment of sale.
  3. Sales are sent in the backgroundEvery few minutes while the till is online, so offline sales catch up on their own.
  4. Updates wait for a quiet momentThe till updates itself, but never in the middle of a sale.

Offline questions

Notes · Common questionsNo 008005

Does Get More POS need the internet to make a sale?

No. The till runs on the counter PC and keeps its own copy of your products and prices, so it keeps selling with no connection. Card payments still need your EFTPOS terminal to be online.

What happens to sales made while offline?

Each sale is saved on the till first. When the connection returns, the till sends them to the back office in the background, and stock and reports update.

Will an update interrupt a sale?

No. The till updates itself, but never in the middle of a sale.

Why does a browser-based till stop when the internet does?

A till that runs in a web page needs the connection to load and save each sale. Get More POS is an app installed on the counter PC, so the connection is only needed to send sales on and fetch new prices.
