What a butchery counter needs

Most of what a butcher sells is weighed, dated and costed by the kilo. Get More POS handles all three at the till, so the price on the receipt and the margin in the report come from the same weight.

A day at the counter.

From opening to close, the till, the back office and the phone apps keep the same products, prices and numbers. Here is what that looks like in a typical day.

  1. Lamb delivery received · batch L-0927, use-by logged
  2. Back-room scale prints mince trays with weight barcodes
  3. Lunch rush · shoulder weighed at the counter, 1.240 kg
  4. Trade invoice emailed to a café account
  5. Z report · margin by product from real costs

Questions butchers ask us

Notes · Common questionsNo 005142

Which scales does Get More POS work with?

Teraoka DS-866 counter scales and Datalogic Magellan scanner-scales connect directly, with zero and tare from the till. Weight-barcode labels from other scales scan in too. Ask us about your model.

Can I print weight-barcode labels for pre-packed meat?

Yes. Labels from your back-room scale carry the weight and price in the barcode, and the till reads both when they are scanned.

Can restaurants and cafés buy on account?

Yes. Set up trade accounts with their own prices and credit limits. Invoices and statements are emailed, and customers can pay online.

Does it track use-by dates?

Yes. Every batch keeps its use-by date, the till sells the oldest batch first, and near-expiry stock is flagged each night.
