What a grocery counter needs

A supermarket is the hardest shop to run on a generic till: loose produce, short-dated stock, supplier invoices every day and customers who buy by the case. Every line below is something Get More Supermarket uses daily.

  • Sell by weightThe counter scale reads straight into the till, and labels from the back-room scale carry weight and price in the barcode.
  • Fresh prices every morningRun the Fresh Desk price run on a phone: count, clear, receive, price and publish to every till.
  • Batch and expiryEach delivery keeps its use-by date, the oldest batch sells first, and near-expiry stock is flagged overnight.
  • Thousands of productsImport from a spreadsheet, then add products, change prices and print shelf labels from the Scanner app on the floor.
  • Suppliers without re-typingPurchase orders emailed for you, reorders drafted from low stock, and supplier invoices read from a photo.
  • Deals the till remembersMultibuys, bundles, buy-one-get-one and WhatsApp coupon campaigns.
  • Trade and wholesale buyersWholesale prices, credit accounts, invoices, statements and an online trade shop.
  • More than one storeA warehouse, transfers between shops and prices per store from one back office.

A day at the counter.

From opening to close, the till, the back office and the phone apps keep the same products, prices and numbers. Here is what that looks like in a typical day.

  1. Fresh Desk price run finished · produce prices published to the tills
  2. Doors open · every till already has today’s prices
  3. Supplier delivery received · invoice read from a photo, batches and use-by dates logged
  4. Markdown window starts on near-expiry bakery stock
  5. Z report printed · overnight expiry check queued

Questions grocers ask us

Notes · Common questionsNo 005141

Does it suit ethnic and specialty grocery stores?

Yes. Get More POS was built inside Get More Supermarket, an Auckland grocery with loose and weighed goods, short-dated stock, daily price changes and trade customers, so it is ready for specialty and ethnic grocers.

Can I sell loose fruit and vegetables by weight?

Yes. Get More POS reads the weight from a Teraoka DS-866 or Datalogic Magellan scale at the counter, and scans weight-barcode labels printed by your back-room scale.

How do I get thousands of products into the system?

Import them from a spreadsheet (CSV or Excel), or we import them for you from your old system. After that, add or change products from the back office or the Scanner app on your phone.

Can trade customers buy on account?

Yes. Trade accounts have their own prices and credit limits, get invoices and statements by email, and can pay online with a payment link.

Does it work across more than one store?

Yes. Run a warehouse and several shops from one back office, transfer stock between them and set prices per store, with approval.
